Skateboarding in Brighton

Updated: Nov 18, 2020

A little peak behind the Brighton and Hove skateboarding scene. Let us introduce Ricardo Magee Atxukarro who's been supporting the local skateboarders for years.

  • Ricardo has developed a skateparks participation programme with the Healthy Lifestyles Team of Brighton and Hove City Council over the past 10 years featuring a mental wellbeing programme for 12-16 years olds (Go Skate) and beginners skateboarding lessons in schools, skateparks and at events for less active groups and disadvantaged young people from ages 5+. He was also a founding member of Skateboard England National Governing Body and teaches skateboard coaches across the UK for Street Games as well as developing new skateparks. The most recent project being the redevelopment of Hove Lagoon skatepark into a much improved modern concrete. For further information on Ricardo’s great work please visit https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/topic/skate-parks or visit your local skate shop to pick up a card if you interested in some skateboarding for adults or children.
