Brighton's 2026 calendar – the perfect Christmas present for yourself, your friends and your family.
Now in its 26th year, the Brighton & Hove calendar has been a staple on local Christmas lists since 2000. We send thousands of copies to Brighton lovers all over the world. Featuring stunning images from local photographers, the calendar captures the spirit of Brighton & Hove – a progressive, sometimes weird and definitely wonderful city.
But it's not just about great images. We pack each month with Brighton-focused dates for your diary including events, festivals and sports fixtures. This year, we’ve also reintroduced the tide tables so you can catch the super low tides at the West Pier.
You can buy your calendar here on our online shop, or from our spiritual home in Kensington Gardens (the Beard Man stall in front of Snoopers Paradise). It’s also stocked in City Books in Hove, at Brighton Photography Gallery on the seafront, and Colourstream photo lab in Kemptown. We believe in the local economy and independent businesses, so you will never find us on big retailer websites.

About this year’s calendar
The 2026 edition returns to its original 32-page format (that’s four more than last year!) and features over 50 stunning images by talented local photographers. We’re also bringing back the tide table, so you can plan those perfect low-tide, seafront sunset wanders.

ABOUT the calendar
FAQs
Didn't the calendar end a few years ago?
Yes... and no.
The Brighton & Hove Calendar was originally created by local photographer Nigel Swallow, who produced it for over two decades. During that time, three editions were produced by another local photographer, Finn Hopson of Brighton Photography Gallery.
In 2020, Nigel stepped back to focus on other projects and published what was billed at the time as the final edition. But it turned out the calendar was still much loved – so he passed on the reins: first to Petrusco and the ArtHoc collective, and now to us, Alex and Lisa Bamford.
It’s a real honour to be custodians of this Brighton institution. Rest assured – this is still the original Brighton & Hove Calendar. The same spirit, the same purpose, and the same much-loved tradition.
Do you have a stall on Kensington Gardens?
Just like every year, you can pick up the Brighton & Hove Calendar from its spiritual home, Kensington Gardens. Just head to the brilliant Beard Man stall, right outside Snoopers Paradise. Marcus will have a stack ready and waiting.
Where else can I buy the Brighton & Hove calendar?

Will the calendar include a tide timetable?
Yes! We love a low tide wander on the sand – and we know many of you do too. So this year, we are reintroducing the handy tide timetable to the Brighton & Hove Calendar.
It includes daily high and low tide times for Brighton, as well as full moon dates – perfect for sea swimmers, dog walkers, beachcombers, and moon gazers alike.

Who's the team behind the calendar?
Hello! I’m Alex, and together with my wife Lisa, we’re the new custodians of the Brighton & Hove Calendar – the best-loved city calendar, running since 2001.
We’re not new to it though, far from it. I’m a local photographer and have been contributing images to the calendar since 2007. I’ve also been designing it behind the scenes for the past 10 years.
Lisa is a fellow photographer and graphic designer (we actually met through the Brighton Flickr meetups!). Between us, we’re passionate about keeping this much-loved Brighton tradition alive and thriving.
We’ve known Nigel, the original founder, for nearly 20 years and are proud to carry the torch. Our aim is the same as his: to bring high-quality, affordable photography of Brighton & Hove into people’s homes, year after year.
