Our eco-friendly printing partner
We care about where and how our calendar is made, so we’ve teamed up with a local printer whose environmental credentials are as solid as their colour matching.
Our calendar is printed by a Sussex-based print company that takes sustainability seriously. From eco inks to forest-saving paper choices, they’ve built their whole process around doing the right thing, without compromising on quality.
Here’s what makes them, and your calendar, a greener choice:
FSC certified
All our calendar pages are printed on FSC-certified paper. That means the paper comes from responsibly managed forests that protect wildlife, respect the rights of Indigenous communities, and ensure future generations can enjoy forests too.
Our printer has held FSC certification since 2009. When you see that little tree logo, you know the paper has come from a sustainable source.
Carbon balanced paper
Carbon balanced paper offsets the unavoidable emissions created during production by protecting endangered forests through the World Land Trust. So while our calendar brings you beautiful Brighton scenes, it's also helping to keep trees standing elsewhere in the world.
Almost nothing goes to waste
Nearly all of the paper and metal waste created during printing is recycled, along with ink cartridges, packaging, plates and even the wooden pallets used to deliver supplies. Those pallets are turned into wood chips for children’s playgrounds by a not-for-profit.
Chemical-free plates
In 2019, Newman Thomson switched to a plate-making process that’s completely chemical-free, using Kodak’s Sonora X system. It’s cleaner, safer and much less polluting.
ISO 14001 certified
This international certification recognises companies that actively work to reduce energy use, minimise waste, and go beyond standard environmental compliance. Our printer doesn't just meet the regulations, they’re continually working to do better.
We’re proud to work with a printer that shares our values. So whether you’re buying a calendar for your kitchen wall or posting one across the world, you can feel good knowing it was made with care – for both people and the planet.
